GETTING STARTED

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GETTING STARTED

Is the initial consultation really free?

Yes. The first 30 minutes are always free, with no sales pressure or obligation. The goal is mutual clarity about your needs and whether we're the right fit.

I'm not sure which service fits my situation. Is that okay?

Absolutely. That's exactly what the consultation is for. You'll select "Other" when reaching out, and we'll map your situation together to identify the right approach; whether that's grant writing, curriculum design, cultural consulting, or a combination.

What should I expect during the consultation?

We'll discuss your goals, timeline, budget, and any constraints. You'll leave with a clear understanding of next steps and investment. This is a discovery conversation, not a pitch.

TIMELINE & PROCESS

How quickly can an engagement begin?

Project-based work typically launches within one week of contract signing. Retainers begin onboarding within two weeks. Rush engagements are available depending on current capacity—discuss timing during your consultation.

When is the best time to reach out for grant writing support?

Earlier is always better. Whether you're in the early exploration phase or have a draft, we can help. Starting early means more strategic options and stronger positioning before you've written a single word.

How long do engagements typically take?

It depends on scope. Grant applications: 4–8 weeks. Curriculum design: 6–12 weeks. DEI strategy retainers: ongoing, typically 3–12 months. Workshop facilitation: 2–6 weeks from booking to delivery. We clarify this fully during scoping.

INVESTMENT & BUDGET

How much do your services cost?

Individual engagements, mentorship, & retainers start at $100/hour or $1500/month for ongoing institutional partnerships. Every engagement begins with a consultation to discuss your specific needs and budget. Flexibility is available and up for discussion.

Can you work with organizations or individuals on a limited budget?

Yes. I'm flexible when it comes to certain engagements. Be candid about budget constraints during our consultation—we'll find a sustainable way forward, whether that's phased work, retainer adjustments, or alternative structures.

TYPES OF CLIENTS

What types of organizations do you serve?

I partner with universities and academic institutions, healthcare and legal organizations serving marginalized communities, international NGOs, philanthropic funders, and individual students and professionals seeking competitive funding. All clients share a commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness.

Do you work with organizations outside the U.S.?

Yes. I serve clients across the U.S., Europe, Caribbean, and Latin America. All engagements are remote-first, with time zone coordination built into every scoping conversation.

Can you help if I'm early in the process?

Absolutely. Whether you're exploring DEI initiatives, building cultural competency frameworks, developing grant strategy, or designing curriculum—early engagement means more strategic options and stronger outcomes.

SERVICES & CAPABILITIES

What does DEI and cultural consulting actually include?

DEI and cultural strategy work encompasses equity audits, institutional policy review, culturally responsive curriculum development, community engagement strategy, faculty and staff training facilitation, senior leadership advising, and grant writing to fund ongoing initiatives. Whether you're building cultural competency frameworks, developing programs serving diaspora communities, or creating sustainable equity infrastructure, my PhD in Sociology and decade of university teaching inform recommendations grounded in both theory and real community knowledge. The result is strategy that actually works.

How can writing support strengthen my proposal?

I identify aligned funding sources, develop compelling proposal narratives, structure realistic budgets, and write detailed scopes of work. Whether you're a nonprofit, university, or individual applicant, strong grant writing increases competitiveness and funding success.

What does culturally responsive curriculum design look like?

Curriculum design centers the histories and voices of communities of color, builds inclusive learning objectives, designs assessments that measure equity, and creates materials that reflect students' lived experiences. The result: courses students actually engage with and learn from.

Do you work with healthcare organizations on cultural competency?

Yes. I partner with healthcare systems, legal organizations, and social service agencies serving Haitian, Francophone, and other diaspora communities. Services include HRSA grant writing, culturally responsive clinical training, language access program design, and community health education curriculum.

Do you offer Haitian Kreyòl instruction for organizations?

Yes. I offer Haitian Kreyòl instruction for healthcare providers, social workers, organizational teams, and individuals. Sessions can be tailored for professional development, cultural reclamation, or community engagement. Available individually or as organizational training.
